Online Submission of Freedom of Information Act Requests

The U.S. Agency for International Development is pleased to announce the acceptance of Freedom of Information Act request online through our Public Access Link (PAL).  FOIA request submitted by e-mail, fax and regular mail are still accepted.  Please note that Privacy Act request are not accepted online.

To Submit a FOIA Request Online

Register to create an online profile or to log in to your existing profile click Sign In.

Prior to submitting your request online, please visit the USAID FOIA Page and review the section on ‘Formulating Your Request’.

If you have already created an account, do not create another one.  Duplicate accounts will be deleted.  If you need to update information in your account, sign into the system and click on the "My Account" link on the side menu.

To Submit a FOIA/Privacy Act Request

To submit a FOIA/Privacy Act request, download and complete Form AID-507-1 and submit a copy of the form along with two forms of identification via mail, email, or fax.

Registered Requestors May:  

  • Submit a request online; 
  • Review the status of your request; 
  • Download responsive records once delivered; and  
  • E-mail your Government Information Specialist

If you are not a registered requester you can check the status of your request only by clicking on Check Request Status. You will need to enter the FOIA tracking number (example: F-00000-YY) number provided by the FOIA Office to retrieve the status.
